
Anxiety, Fears and Phobias
Humans only have two basic emotions – LOVE and FEAR. All positive emotions are love based, while all negative emotions are fear based. It’s the fear based emotions that can block people from realizing good health, wealth, fulfilling personal love relationships and satisfying creative self-expression.
In her book, “How To Feel Go(o)d, the great neuro-scientist, Candace Pert states that she has discovered and proved in the laboratory that humans are “hard-wired” for bliss. This means that being peaceful and happy is our natural state and anything else is un-natural. Thus, in order to be successful and happy one must eliminate all debilitating fear based emotions.
Everyone is different. Therefore, when we work with a client with anxiety, severe fears or a phobia we create a special program just for that person and his/her special needs. Most of these include appropriate utilization of hypnotherapy, Emotional Freedom Techniques and NLP.
In most cases we see a complete neutralizing of anxiety, unreasonable fears and phobias in the first two to three hour session. In some cases additional sessions are required, but these are rare.
Anxiety is a form of fear that is defined as "apprehension without apparent cause." It usually occurs when there is no immediate threat to a person's safety or well being, but the threat feels real. Anxiety makes a person want to escape the situation - fast. His heart beats quickly, he may begin to perspire, and "butterflies" in the stomach soon follow. These are classic signs of the beginning stages of the “Fight or Flight” response.
A phobia is defined as an extreme reaction to fear triggered by a stimulus, where the mind attaches feelings of severe anxiety to something that would otherwise be regarded as harmless.
There are four characteristics of phobia that differentiate it from normal fears and anxieties:
the reaction is persistent,
the response is irrational,
the sufferer will go out of his/her way to avoid exposure to the stimulus
a phobia is disabling.
We are born with only two phobias – the fear of falling and the fear of sudden loud noises. All others are learned. And, anything that has been learned can also be un-learned. Our techniques do just that and quickly.
No matter what fear or phobia a person might have they don't need anyone to tell them how restrictive those fears and/or phobias can be. Many individuals have tried facing up to them in the past, but were not successful. After that they will probably do anything to avoid being confronted by the thing, event or situation that the phobia is associated with. That person’s enjoyment of life and perhaps his/her financial success can be severely limited.
To the astonishment of our clients with anxiety, fears and phobias, EFT alone often brings complete freedom and usually does so in a few minutes to an hour or two. The process is about as painless as it gets and is typically permanent.
Hypnosis has long been recognized by the National Phobia Society as a particularly effective method of treating phobias. When we combine hypnotherapy with EFT the result is so powerful there is no better method known to science.
